What We Do

WE DELIVER a comprehensive range of services that nurture 1,200 plus children every day as well as support their families and communities. Our early care and education centers and family child care educators focus on developing each child’s cognitive, social-emotional, physical, literacy and pre-math skills. Nurtury’s multi-layered outcome measurement system uses research-based assessment tools for: child assessments to help determine school readiness; individual classroom assessments focused on quality; and nationally recognized program accreditation.

WE ENGAGE and involve parents in nurturing effective ways to improve their child’s school-readiness and promote family stability. Our approach is based on the following beliefs: parents should be their child’s first teacher; the success of all children depends on and is enhanced by family and community involvement; family engagement is essential to a child’s learning and development; and family engagement requires an equal and shared partnership between parents and educators.

WE PARTNER with parents, neighborhood leaders, community-based organizations and non-profits, service providers, public schools, health care and higher education institutions and many others. These collaborations provide parents with a robust set of resources that give them what they need to advocate for their families and improve their lives, which makes sustained school readiness a reality. Ultimately these partnerships foster the relationships and create the networks that nurture and sustain communities.

Stories

smiling child"With all of the programmatic things that you’re talking about doing over here [at the new Learning Lab], it’s almost like servicing the total family. It’s doing not only child care, but education, parenting, all these things that I feel are very, very important.”
