We were excited to welcome volunteers from the City of Boston to Nurtury’s Horadan Way Center in Roxbury as part Boston Reads Day, a citywide initiative to promote early literacy, and Jumpstart’s Read for the Record event.

Volunteers visited our Preschool and Boston Pre-K classrooms to read the book See Marcus Grow by Marcus Bridgewater. The City of Boston partnered with Jumpstart to gift each child in these classrooms with a copy of the book.

We also provided families with a post-reading activity guide to help enhance children’s learning at home.
