Nurtury Early Education Welcomes Tyra Montina as New VP of Programs

Nurtury Early Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Tyra Montina as Nurtury’s Vice President of Program, bringing more than 15 years of leadership experience in youth development, program management, and equity-focused nonprofit work to one of Greater Boston’s oldest early education organization.
Montina joins Nurtury with a distinguished record of building and scaling high-impact educational and workforce development programs. Most recently, she served as Chief Operating Officer at Thrive Scholars, where she led large cross-functional teams, strengthened organizational systems, and oversaw national programs. Previously, she spent 16 years at Year Up, rising through multiple leadership roles to become Senior Director of Program, supervising a team of 50 and guiding program quality, wraparound services, and site expansion.
She has taught and supported thousands of young people as they pursue academic and professional goals. Tyra brings expertise in program design, data-driven improvement, and building cultures of accountability, collaboration, and equity. She is also a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Nonprofit Practice, where she facilitates leadership development for emerging nonprofit leaders.

Montina holds an M.Ed. from Lesley University and a B.A. from the University of Tulsa.
