Educational/Teaching Philosophy & Method

Led by FCC Educator Suany Ramos Rodas, Our Little Steps Child Care adopts a pedagogy that considers both the cognitive, emotional and social needs of children in their first stage of life. To apply this philosophy, we do:

  1. Comprehensive Vision of the Child
  2. Learning Through Play
  3. Education as a Social Process
  4. Development of Critical Thinking from Childhood
  5. Emotional Education
  6. Educator as Facilitator
  7. Attention to Diversity
  8. Ethics and Responsibility in Care

Our Little Steps Child Care operates out of Nurtury’s Family Child Care (FCC) Incubator. Learn more about Suany’s experience and background below:

4 years total teaching (one year as a Teacher and three years as Lead Teacher) and 8 years as an Assistant

Throughout my career in the field of early education, I have had the opportunity to work directly with children in their early stages of development, which has allowed me to deeply understand the importance of the first years in the learning and integral growth of the little ones.

I have worked in a variety of educational settings, from FFC daycare to early stimulation programs and centers, giving me a comprehensive understanding of children’s cognitive, emotional and social needs. My pedagogical approach is based on the belief that each child has a unique learning pace, and my goal has always been to create a stimulating and safe environment that encourages curiosity and the development of key skills.

Cognitive and Emotional Development:

I have designed and implemented activities that promote both the cognitive and emotional development of children. I use methods that promote problem solving, symbolic play, and interaction with peers. Aware of the importance of play as an educational tool, I have facilitated environments where children can explore freely, while guiding them in the acquisition of new skills and knowledge.

Not having my own home has been a big barrier since homeowners do not want to rent to people who want to provide daycare.

It is a dream come true for me, a personal satisfaction, an opportunity for professional growth for my life, at the same time it will be a great challenge since it entails a great responsibility for everything to go well and also because I will demonstrate to myself the ability to learn. of what happens every day. I am very happy to know that with this new business I will be able to help parents balance their work and family life, while offering a safe and enriching environment for children.
