On Friday, Nurtury had volunteers from Liberty Mutual visit our Harvard Street Center to help bring our garden back to life.

Our garden beds at our Cambridge early learning center were overgrown and in need of some TLC, so we asked Liberty Mutual employees to help with weeding and planting as part of their “Serve with Liberty” campaign.

Each year, Liberty Mutual collaborates with local nonprofit organizations for their “Serve with Liberty” campaign, a dedicated period in April and May when employees are encouraged to volunteer on service projects in their communities . We are fortunate that Liberty Mutual chose to partner with Nurtury for this gardening project.

Children will be exploring a gardening unit this May, so we are excited to have fruit, vegetables, herbs, and plants that they can observe and measure their growth over time.

Fortunately, our Liberty Mutual volunteers were not alone in their undertakings. A few classrooms stopped by to lend a helping hand and engaged in the planting process.
