On Friday, April 28th, we invited families of Harvard Street to join us for a Family Garden Get-Together. We had every classroom represented, infants through preschool. Families stayed and talked together.
There were lots of gardening materials: dirt, rakes, shovels, garden decorations, seeds, seedlings, small pots, and spray bottles to water our newly planted seeds. The children dug in the dirt making holes for the seedlings. We even watched a worm wiggle in his new home!
A grandfather from Little Angel’s Room was our expert gardener. He talked to the children about the process of planting and helped answer many questions. Family members planted together. Each of the classrooms will continue to care for our garden and notice the changes in the months to come.
